Kids
Craft -- Beach Cover-Up
Going to the beach is something that
your kids love to do so why not have them set a fashion statement when
they go. This is a simple, mom and daughter, craft to
create a beach cover-up that your girls will love.

Items needed:
Bright color towel preferably one that matches
your daughter's bathing suit.
Fusible bonding web (you can try Stitch
Witchery)
Large yarn needle or scissors
8 inch piece of elastic
Large button to match color of towel
Fabric glue
Lace, fringe, ribbon or other decorations

How to make it...
Measure and cut a towel to fit your child.
Be sure to preserve 2 of the hemmed hedges on the towel. A good starting
point is around 17 inches long and wide enough to fit around the kid's waist
with 5 inches overlap. Remember the length will need to be adjusted based
on your child's height.
Next, fold over each of the cut edges and seal
them with fusible bonding web.
For a fastener use a large yarn needle or
scissors to make 2 holds about 1/4 inch apart near one upper corner. Slip
the ends of the 8 inch piece of elastic through the holes and then knot them.
Wrap the cover up around
your child's waist and mark the spot to put the large button to hold the loop in
place and secure the cover up. Once marked remove from child and sew on
the button.
Now it is
time to be creative: Use fabric glue to add your decorations: fringe, ribbon,
lace etc...
