As a
girl scout leader for many years and a homeroom parent for both of my
children I have planned many Valentine's Day Parties. You will find some
great games, recipes, crafts and movies for kids parties

Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Pretzel Rods
3 or more bags of melting chocolate
(depends on the number of kids)
Halloween Sprinkles
Wax Paper
Melt chocolate in crock pot on high stirring
occasionally. Once chocolate is melted have kids dip the pretzel
into the chocolate and then into the sprinkles. Give them a piece
of wax paper to put it on to dry.
Love Potion
Drink boxes, bottles or cans.
Create labels out of red and pink construction paper
to fit your drink. Decorate each label with stickers and/or glitter and
add a slogan.
For example Love Potion, Cupid Juice, Heart Warming Syrup, Warning -
Extra Strength.

Love Potion Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1 small carton of vanilla yogurt
1/2 Cup ice cubes
1 cup apple juice
Place strawberries, raspberries
and juice in blender. Blend several seconds.
Heart
Rice Krispie Treats
1/4 cup butter
1 (10 oz., about 40) pkg. regular marshmallows or 3 cups miniature
marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and
continue to stir until the marshmallows have completely melted. Add red
food coloring to desired color. Remove from heat.
Stir in the Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal coating them well with the
melted marshmallow mixture.
Using a buttered or silicone spatula, press the mixture evenly into a 13
x 9 x 2 inch pan which has been buttered or sprayed with non-stick spray
or lined with wax paper.
Use a heart cookie cutter to cut when the mixture cools. |
Cupid Crunch

(24 oz) package vanilla Almond Bark
2 bags of lightly salted
microwave popcorn, popped (approximately 16-20 cups popped popcorn)
1 1/2 cups Valentine candy corn
1 cup dry roasted, salted
peanuts
1 1/2 cups M&Ms (Valentine colors)
Pop popcorn and place in a large bowl. The
largest you have. Pour peanuts, candy corn, and M&Ms on top.
Break up almond bark. Melt according to
package directions. Pour over popcorn mixture. Stir until everything is
well coated and then spread out onto waxed paper, parchment, or foil.
Let sit until completely dry and then break up into clumps.

Cupid's Wafer Cookies

Ingredients:
Strawberry Wafer Cookies
White, Pink and Red choclolate candy melts (Can
just purchase white and add desired food coloring)
Variety of Valentine sprinles
Parchment paper
Instructions:
Place parchment paper on a tray.
Melt chocolate as suggested on package.
Dip wafer cookie into melted chocolate and lay on
parchment paper.
Immediately add sprinkles to decorate.
Place tray into refrigerator to set approximately
20 minutes.

Ice Cream Heart Sandwiches

Items Needed
Square ice cream sandwiches
Valentine sprinkles
lollipop sticks
Clear cellophane bags
Thin red ribbon or wire twisties
Heart shaped cookie cutter to fit ice cream sandwich
Instructions
Press cookie cutter into the
ice cream sandwich. Use a knife to cut around edges if needed.
Once have heart shaped ice
cream sandwich add sprinkles around the edge.
Add a stick to the bottom.
Cover with cellophane bag and
close with ribbon or twisties
Place back in freezer until
ready to use.

Valentine Snack Mix
Items Needed
Popcorn
Valentine Candy ( M&Ms and candy corn)
Valentine sprinkles
Red, or pink chocolate candy melts
Red or pink plastic cups
Heart lollipops
Cellophane and thin red or pink ribbon
Instructions
In a large bowl mix popcorn and
candy and mix. Divide evenly into plastic cups filling to the top.
Melt chocolate and quickly drizzle oover the mixture in each cup.
Place the lollipop in the center of each cup (can use a touch of
chocolate to hold it in place).
Wrap each cup in cellophane and
secure with ribbon
