Amusement Parks

The park was opened in 1907 as a leisure park for the employees of the Hershey Chocolate Company.  Later, the company decided to open the park to the public. Click here for History of Hersheypark.  Today the park has approximately 110 acres and over 60 rides and attractions and has grown into one of the most popular theme and leisure parks on the east coast of the USA.

The rides at this terrific amusement park  include water rides, family rides, kiddie rides and thrill seekers -- including 10 world class roller coasters. For details on HersheyPark rides click here: Hershey Rides

The park also offers photo opps with HERSHEY’S Product Characters, challenging games of skill, one-of-a-kind shops, as well as irresistible food.

Hersheypark is located in central Pennsylvania in the town of Hershey, which is two hours from Philadelphia and three hours from New York City.   Hershey, PA is America’s favorite chocolate town and Hersheypark is one of the cleanest, oldest parks in this country.   It is a year round destination full of fun for kids of all ages.  It is a favorite destination where the smell of chocolate is in the air and the streetlights are shaped like Hershey kisses.

Entertainment and Additional Features at Hershey...

The park also offers a large variety of shows for your entertainment  including in 2007 two award winning shows Velocity and The Milkmen.

Velocity, produced by SRO Associates, is a acrobatic and gymnastic delight.  The strength of athletes is combined with the entertainment of circus performers. This show received a "Big E" award in 2007 from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.

The Milkmen, produced by Matt Davenport Productions, is also an award winner.  A show filled with tunes from yesterday and today based on Rosie the milk truck who pulls up to deliver HERSHEY'S favorite Milk Men who will keep you totally entertained.

Adjacent to the park is Hershey's Chocolate World, a visitors' center that is open to the public.  You will find shops selling Hershey products, restaurants, and a free tour of Chocolate World, which is a simulated Hershey's factory.  The real factory is no longer open to the public.  The kids can see how candy bars are produced from the cocoa bean to the finished product. In addition, kids can visit FactoryWorks where they can package their own Hershey Kisses.  The fun thing about this whole area is the free samples that they give out!! Also available for an admission fee is a 3-D Show, or a trolley tour ride of the town of Hershey with a singing conductor.  This tour drives by the former residence of Milton Hershey.

You can also visit the Hershey Museum with its unique and interactive exhibits.  This Museum  features information about Milton S. Hershey's life and the history of  his candy company from inception to the present day.

ZooAmerica, is the eleven-acre walk-through animal preserve that was built to showcase Milton Hershey’s private animal collection.  It is now home to approximately 75 species of animals.
