Car Games Magnetic Game Tray

This simple car game craft is a terrific way to serve up some  travel fun for your kids.  You can easily create a tray full of magnetic games and art supplies.  It is a wonderful way to keep the kids amused during a long road trip.  Remember as with any toy be sure it is age appropriate for your child.

Supplies Needed:

Baking Sheet
Plain white Con-Tact Paper

Magnetic tape

Dry erase markers (variety of colors)

Small piece of cloth

A piece of ribbon

Buttons

Pocket style file folder

Directions:

Cover the cooking surface of your baking sheet with white Con-Tact paper to be used as your drawing surface.    Place pieces of magnetic tape on each dry erase marker and each button.  Secure them to the bottom left corner of the baking sheet.  Tie one end of the ribbon to the piece of cloth and attach the other end to the hole on the handle of the baking sheet to provide an eraser.  Create a storage area by placing magnetic tape on the back of the pocket style file folder and attaching it to the back of the baking sheet.

Use your drawing surface to create such things as a Tic Tac Toe board  (use the buttons for pieces), an easel area for drawing pictures, Create an area to play Hang Man or Checkers.  For additional games fill your storage pocket crossword puzzles, bingo cards, coloring pages, and/or mazes printed from the internet or from All Star Activities Kids Corner.  The buttons can also serve the purpose of  securing the paper games to the drawing surface area while your child is at work.

This is a very inexpensive way to keep you kids amused because you can easily change the games for each road trip.  The mystery of what will be in the game packet is part of the fun.  It is important that the magnetic tray does not ever come out unless you are going on a trip. Remember it is important to include items that are AGE appropriate for your child.

Enjoy -- Have a great trip!!!!
