New Hope Information and
Review
New Hope is located in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
This
charming little village is an easy trip from New York, Philadelphia and
most parts of New Jersey. You will find the streets of New Hope
crowded with tourists visiting
antique shops and art galleries; taking a walk along the river;
enjoying a show or concert; taking a ferry or carriage ride; visiting
great historic sites; enjoying a wonderful meal and of course shopping.
New Hope
is a shoppers paradise with over 100
specialty shops, offering everything from local crafts to beautiful
items from around the world.
There are four main streets in New Hope
that are lined with galleries, shops and restaurants
plus quaint little alley-ways and side streets where visitors can wander
along the cobblestone walks.
New Hope's history is an important part of
its attraction. It is just a few miles from Washington's Crossing which
is where Washington crossed the Delaware during the Battle of Trenton in
the American Revolution. Ferry Street, in
New Hope, contains houses that date back to the American
Revolution and War of 1812.
You can begin you
excursion at the
Visitor's Center, located at 1
Mechanic St., where you can get an inexpensive map that will set you off
on a self-guided tour. Consider taking a scenic tour aboard the
Ivyland Railroad or Visiting
the historic 18th century Parry Mansion
to see the decorative styles from the18th to early 20th centuries.
One of New Hope's most
defining features is the Delaware River
where you can stroll or take narrated paddle-boat rides.
Whatever you decide to do you while
visiting I think that you will find this little town enchanting and well
worth the trip.
