Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Rock and Roll Country Music

The Country Music Hall of Fame is a state of the art museum dedicated to exploring the past, and present of country music and it is located in Nashville, TN.

It is a terrific museum to visit with the music lovers in your home.  To capture the ever-evolving spirit of country music, the exhibits are changed frequently and some items are displayed on a temporary basis.

Inside, the Museum presents the crown jewels of its vast collection to illustrate country music's story as told through the turns of two centuries. You will enjoy historic country video clips,  recorded music, and a regular menu of live performances.   The Country Music Hall of Fame serves as a honoring spot for the greats of the country music world.

Dynamic exhibits tastefully display over 600 musical instruments, including guitars, banjos, pianos, drums, fiddles, steel guitars, mandolins and folk instruments like cigar-box fiddles. You will see more than 800 stage costumes, and hundreds of other objects from microphones to automobiles documenting the work of those who created country music.  Throughout the museum, you will encounter several touch-screen computer interactive stations that allow you to look at rare photographs, listen to music, watch video clips and even interview renowned songwriters including Harlan Howard, Tom T. Hall, Dolly Parton and Matraca Berg. To truly enhance your museum experience, be sure to visit the movie theaters Changing Channels, and Star Experience.

The museum is self-guided, so you may enjoy at your own pace. It is recommended that you spend at least an hour-and-a-half to two hours to maximize your experience. The Museum offers a 70-minute Audio Tour narrated by WSM Radio Personality and Grand Ole Opry Announcer Eddie Stubbs and features segments by Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood and Dolly Parton.
