Reasons to Volunteer

Organizations need your help

Most sports organizations are non-profit groups established to organize children into teams for the sole purpose of playing or competing.  Many other organizations, such as dance and gymnastics, although privately owned are still in need of volunteers.  Since sports and organized activities are such an integrated part of our society and so many children participate, this is a major task to perform. So it is therefore necessary for parents to become involved in order to make the league or organization successful.

Coaching....

Volunteering as a coach takes a great deal of time and effort but the outcome is rewarding.  You can take pride in knowing that you are contributing to the growth, happiness and achievement of young people. You play a major part in the success of their team and what you do really counts.  Volunteering will help you to learn new skills because each day will bring a new experience.

Fundraising....

Fundraising is often essential to help supplement the cost incurred in participating in tournaments and recitals in many organizations. The help that  is needed varies based on the sport or activity, so talk to the organization management to find out how you can help with the amount of hours that you have available.

Child's Role Model....

Remember that you are your child's number one role model and by you being actively involved in their sport or activity, there is a good chance that your child will stay involved.  Your participation will allow you to spend quality time with your child in a different environment and will solidify your child's experience in  a positive way.
