Beautiful
beaches, warm tropical weather, gorgeous water, volcanoes, and luaus are what comes to
mine when we think of Hawaii. There are however many other
attractions for tourists to see.
Each of the Hawaiian
islands has much to offer tourist. You will find helicopter tours that
provide a bird's-eye views of volcanoes, water falls, coastline and
mountains. These trips can run about $100 to $400, depending on the
length of the excursion. Of course you must attend a Luau! You can
expect a flashy show, a huge buffet and a true authentic Hawaiian
experience. You will find tours Dole Pineapple Plantation on Oahu, Kona
Lea Coffee Plantation on the Big Island, Alexander & Baldwin Sugar
Museum, located on Maui.
On Oahu, you will find the
Honolulu Zoo is home to 1,230 mammals, birds & reptiles. The
Bishop Museum offers a
fun-filled day with its collection of Hawaiian artifacts, the Hawaii
Sports Hall of Fame, exhibits and a planetarium. You can tour Pearl
Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial ,the site of the attack that
launched the United States into World War II. For an amazing panoramic
view of the harbor visit Aloha Tower which is one of Honolulu's most
recognized landmarks that is also a great shopping and dining
destination. The Hawaii Polynesian Cultural Center gives you a chance
to learn and interact with the people of
Hawaii, Samoa, Maori New
Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, the Marquesas and Tonga. You’ll also see the
world-famous and largest night show, Horizons: Where the Sea Meets the
Sky.
On Maui you can drive up
to the top of Haleakala crater and see the sunrise from the summit. It
is VERY cold and windy so you must dress appropriately. You can take a
38-mile bike tour down Haleakala Volcano if you are adventurous. The
Road to Hana is an amazing, very windy road along the eastern coast of
the island. You will see the natural island beauty of Maui with
waterfalls and the only black sand beach in Maui. You should plan on a
whole day to enjoy this experience. If you visit
Maui between Dec.
and May, look into a whale watching excursion.
The island of Kauai offers
a variety of attractions. The Wailua River is the only navigable
waterway in the Hawaiian islands and you can take a memorable kayak
tour up the river to a wonderful waterfall. Kauai offers stunning
natural beauty and you can see the sites through tubing, zipline, ATV or
biking tours. However the most popular way to see the beauty of this
island is with a helicopter tour. Your unforgettable adventures on this
island can also include snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking, fishing,
windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, golf and shopping. Movie tours are
available to see where scenes from favorite movies and television series
such as Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Donovan's Reef,
Outbreak, Gilligan's
Island, Fantasy Island, Blue
Hawaii and South Pacific were filmed.
On the Big Island, Hawaii
Volcanoes National Park is the island's most popular attraction. It is
the place where volcanoes erupt, and lava flows.
Major features of the park
are the 11-mile Crater Rim Drive that encircles Kilauea's summit
caldera. The Jagger
Museum and the Thurston Lava Tube are two more great stops.
You can opt to see this
fabulous island on horseback or by helicopter. You can golf on
beautiful courses; rent a Harley and cycle on nice, curvy roads in the
beautiful weather; Visit the Kona Brewing or Mehana Brewing Companies
and taste their beers. Visitors can also investigate the University of
Hawaii or explore

the largest restored ancient Hawaiian religious temple.
You can take horse-drawn
