Playing sports is always fun but it is important to take the necessary precautions in order to remain safe and healthy.

Children are growing and bones and muscles are not as strong as an adult.  Preventing injuries is not as hard as you think and some can be prevented by following some simple safety tips.

ALWAYS WARM UP BEFORE BEGINNING A SPORT.

LEARN AND PLAY BY THE RULES OF THE GAME.   THIS WILL HELP TO IMPROVE THE GAME AND KEEP YOU SAFE AT THE SAME TIME.

IMMEDIATELY TELL A COACH, PARENT OR TEACHER IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK, TIRED OR YOU ARE HURT.  NEVER PLAY IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING YOUR BEST.

ALWAYS WEAR THE PROPER SAFETY GEAR FOR YOUR SPORT.  MAKE SURE THAT IT FITS PROPERLY.

NOTIFY YOUR COACH IN ADVANCE OF ANY HEALTH CONDITIONS THAT MAY CAUSE YOU DIFFICULTY DURING PLAY.

N HOT WEATHER BE SURE TO WEAR SUN SCREEN.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER.

GO TO EVERY PRACTICE SO THAT YOU ARE IN YOUR BEST PHYSICAL CONDITION AND SO YOU LEARN THE NECESSARY SKILLS FOR YOUR SPORT.

MOUTH GUARDS SHOULD BE WORN BY CHILDREN WITH BRACES.

BOYS SHOULD WEAR AN ATHLETIC CUP.

CHILDREN WHO WEAR GLASSES SHOULD WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR.

BE SURE TO BE IN YOUR BEST SHAPE WHEN STARTING YOUR SPORT SEASON.  EXERCISE ALL YEAR!!!

TAKE LESSONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING A NEW SPORT SUCH AS ICE SKATING, SKIING, SNOW BOARDING OR SKATEBOARDING.

WEAR A HELMET FOR BIKE RIDING, SKIING, SKATEBOARDING, AND SNOWBOARDING.

ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER FOR OUTDOOR SPORTS.  BE SURE THAT YOU  WEAR LAYERS WHEN IT IS COLD.  YOU CAN ALWAYS REMOVE CLOTHING IF YOU ARE HOT.

TAKE PLENTY OF REST BREAKS.

ALWAYS WEAR SUN GLASSES ON GOGGLES ON A SKI SLOPE.
