Quarter Back |
Offensive
position takes the snap; throws the ball downfield, hands it off to the running back or wide
receiver, or runs it personally. |

Wide Receiver |
The player who catches the pass and attempts a touchdown.

Running Back |
Person who
carries the ball on a running play when quarter back hands off the ball
to him.

Center |
The player who
snaps the ball to the quarter back

Linemen |
Help block the
quarter back when he is passing or throwing the ball

Kicker |
Kicks the ball
off in the beginning of a game, after halftime and after the offensive
team scores a touchdown. They also attempt field goals. |

Safety |
Last line of
defense against someone running with the ball.
|
|
Defensive Backs |
These players
defend the pass.
|
|
Linebackers |
Defend against
both the pass and the run. |
|
Punter |
After a 4th
down when a team can not go for the 1st down a punter will punt the ball
to the other team. |
