Spalding has introduced a new line called Spalding Rookie Gear. It is designed and engineered for kids aged 8 and under. This line of youth-sized basketballs, footballs and soccer balls weigh 25 percent less than standard youth products. Spalding has designed this innovative product line so that kids in this age group can shoot, rebound, kick and throw more easily. Spalding believes that this lighter ball will help to build sound fundamental skills and athlete confidence resulting in more success.

Traditionally youth products have been made smaller in size but not appropriately weighted, which can lead to improper form, lack of success, and frustration for the athlete. A lighter ball creates a better playing experience for kids, allowing them to practice proper fundamentals more easily. The easier it comes to them the more confidence they will build which will keep them engaged in the sport. Spalding currently has a basketball, football and soccer ball as part of this line.

BASKETBALL

The lighter basketball will help kids to dribble more successfully, rebound more confidently, shoot farther, and catch easier than ever before and with better form.
